Message from Kelly: “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step – famous Chinese proverb. When stressors occur, it is not uncommon for lives to unravel. My great passion is to be a part of the journey towards healing and empowerment. I believe every individual, with internal motivation and external guidance, has the capacity to create their own version of a LIFE INSPIRED." |

I would like to introduce myself as a resource for individuals seeking supportive therapy. I joined Pathways of Florida in February 2019 after working with private and not for profit agencies offering prevention, intervention, and outpatient and inpatient co-occurring mental health and substance abuse for the past 15 years.
I believe that I provide a safe environment for all who I work with. Studies have shown no one therapeutic modality utilized by therapists is superior to another; rather, clinicians themselves ultimately determine whether treatment will prove effective. It’s not about the model being used; instead, it’s the relationship between the therapist and client. This principle guides my work, in that I strive to provide a client centered, strength-based counseling setting to individuals. Modalities and techniques I draw from include Humanistic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Systems Theory and I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). When I’m not working with individuals, I enjoy spending time with my family, bike riding, enjoying Florida outdoors as well as traveling. |
I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have over 15 years experience working in a variety of settings, including domestic violence shelters, pediatric medical clinics, schools and in home therapeutic support to families. I am also a Professor at the University of South Florida.
Through a holistic, collaborative, client centered approach I assist individuals with reaching their goals. I aim to help clients gain a better understanding of internal and external conflicts and how to manage them to help them live their own version of a LIFE INSPIRED! |
